Intro to Lovingkindness

One of the practices that absolutely changed my life is that of lovingkindness. Sharon Salzburg says that the practice “binds us together” and I believe that to be true. It has opened my heart to myself and to others. It has given me a resource in times of trouble. It has led me to see deeper connections. It is a relatively simple practice on the outside, but its effects are deep and lasting. 

In this four week course, we’ll spend an hour every Sunday together via Crowdcast (which doesn’t require a download and can be accessed from any type of device). Our time together will be spent first in instruction, then in practice, and finally in conversation. Throughout the rest of the week, I’ll ask that you dedicate at least part of your practice to lovingkindness. In the hopes of giving you further support, you'll also have the opportunity to meet with me once individually, either in person (if you are local to Columbus) or online and I'll of course be available to you via email or messaging throughout the course.

If you are brand new to meditation or don’t have a lot of experience, that’s perfectly okay! Please feel free to join us. In our first week, we’ll go over some general meditation basics before diving into lovingkindness practice. 

What if you can't make a Sunday? That's okay! Videos will be available for you to watch right after each session is over. Bonus: these videos can also be used for guided meditation throughout the rest of the week.

Much like my other offerings, this class is provided on a sliding scale of $30-50. Registration and payment can be made through Square. Please know that no one is turned away for lack of funds. If the scale feels outside of your means and you wish to participate, please contact me in order to register.

In times like the ones we’re in, we can all use a little more lovingkindness for ourselves and a little more ability to show it to others. I hope you’ll join me for this course. It is going to be so very special.
